Venison tacos or tostadas are an easy go-to-dinner that is delicious when paired with fresh ingredients. If you’re a salsa lover, you’ll enjoy this recipe and how easy it is to make fresh smoked salsa. This will not only step up your taco game, but will also leave you some leftover salsa to enjoy! These ingredients are suggestions and you can change them to your taste by using different peppers, tomatillos, more garlic, and other spices.
8-10 Roma Tomatoes
1 white onion
4 garlic cloves
2-3 large jalapenos
3-5 colored sweet peppers (I used the small kind you can get at Aldi but you could also use bell peppers)
Heat your GMG Grill to 450*
Cut tops off tomatoes and cut tomatoes in half. Cut onion into big chunks, half jalapenos and colored peppers, and peel garlic cloves.
Place veggies on grill at 450* for 10-15 minutes to get a nice char on the veggies.
Turn grill down to 275* and place veggies in a pan and cook for about an hour. Add a bunch of cilantro to the pan once you turn the grill down.
Take veggies off and put into a food processor or blender.
Add juice from lime, a healthy pinch of cilantro if you like it, pinch or two of crushed red pepper, and a pinch of salt to the food processor/blender.
Blend to your likeness for desired thickness.
Serve and enjoy!
